Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://help.jurisphere.ai/jurisphere-word-add-in/core-features/review-playbook/running-review-playbooks.md). # Running Review Playbooks Selecting a built Review Playbook inside the Word Add-In, reading clause level flags once it runs, and accepting, escalating or fixing a flagged deviation. ## Overview Once a Review Playbook has been built on the web platform (see [Building Review Playbooks](https://claude.ai/cowork/cse_019A8QdUyX6GKXxDLJs3SeuB#) if you haven't done that yet), run against the real document you have open in Word, producing a clause by clause evaluation against your team's own defined standard. {% hint style="success" %} Running a Playbook flags deviations, it does not change your document unless you click on generate edit. Exactly like the suggested edits covered in [Drafting & Editing](/jurisphere-word-add-in/core-features/ask-juris/drafting-and-editing.md), nothing in your document is altered just because a Playbook ran. Every flag is something you review and act on deliberately, not something applied automatically without your permission. {% endhint %}
*** ### Where Review Playbooks live in the panel Review Playbooks sit in their **own tab** in the Word Add-In panel, separate from the **Ask Juris** tab used for questions, drafting instructions and Skills.
*** ## Running a Playbook against your document {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Switch to the Review Playbooks tab Navigate and switch to the Review Playbooks from either the homepage of Jurisphere Word Add-In or from the top of the panel. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Select the right Playbook for this document Choose from the list of Playbooks you or your organization has built. For example, Employment Agreement Review Playbook, Vendor Agreement Playbook, etc. Picking the wrong Playbook for the document type will not necessarily fail. The rules with an Applicability Condition that never matches will simply come back **Not Applicable** across the review run, which is itself a useful signal that you may have the wrong Playbook selected.
{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Review the Playbook's Overview After clicking on the review playbook you want to run, you’ll see a brief description, input requirements playbook rules covered and an option to start the review. {% hint style="info" %} Clicking on any playbook rule expands the card providing an overview of the rule. {% endhint %}
{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Run it Click “Start Review” and the Add-In will assess every rule in the playbook against the document. It presents a structured clause by clause evaluation in the panel. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Reading the results
Once a Playbook finishes running, each rule it contains resolves to one of three states for this particular document:

Not Acceptable

The clause falls outside the position your Playbook allows. It does not match your Starting Position and it doesn't fall within any of the ranked Fallback Positions either.

Fallback

The clause does not match your Starting Position, but it does fall within one of the ranked Fallback Positions your Playbook defines as acceptable but not ideal.

Acceptable

The clause matches your Starting Position that no negotiation is needed and no edit is required.
{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Acting on a flagged deviation Once you're looking at a deviation, you have the same range of actions available across the rest of the Word Add-In. Use the deviation's citation to navigate straight to the relevant text in your open document and read it in full context, the same way you would with any inline citation elsewhere in the Word Add-In. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Turn a deviation into an edit A Playbook flag does not change anything automatically. To edit it, click on the "Generate Edit" dropdown under any of the unacceptable or fallback positions.
Clicking on the dropdown will open the options for selecting the edit suggestion’s scope. You can choose between the starting position and the fallback positions you had set. Once you’ve made your selection, click “Generate Edit”.
Follow the usual navigation steps to move between a show in a document, apply it, apply with a comment and then dismiss the suggestion (see [Reviewing and acting on a suggested edit](/jurisphere-word-add-in/core-features/ask-juris/drafting-and-editing.md#reviewing-and-acting-on-a-suggested-edit)) based on your desired outcome.
